North Idaho Fly Casters is an organization of approximately 120 members
who are interested in the sport of fly fishing. Our group was founded in
1976 and chartered as an affiliate of the Federation of Fly Fishers. We
are dedicated to the improvement of all fisheries in North Idaho. North
Idaho Fly Casters is a staunch supporter of catch-and-release as a
management tool to provide more and larger fish. We release the fish we
hook (on barbless hooks, per Idaho regulation) unharmed, so they may
live and do battle with another angler, another day. Since 79% of Idaho
fishers prefer trout fishing to all other, we feel that the pressure on
trout must be reduced. Catch and release and careful fisheries
management, go a long way in addressing that goal, insuring good fishing
for all.
Member benefits include: Access to a large club library of books and
videos, Monthly "featured" speakers and presentations, Fly tying
demonstrations, Monthly raffles, Summer fly fishing outings and
seminars, An annual Fly Show & Banquet and, Our monthly newsletter, "Flies
& Lies".
Our
programs include: Fly-tying seminars, Fly casting instructions, The
technology and art of fly rod building, Conservation projects,
Knots/leaders/fly line instruction, and Junior flycasters sponsorship.
